Help Bug or bad phone?

Hello,

So I have had my bionic for about 10 days now and I do love it. I came from the OG Droid so of course to me it feels incredible fast ;). I live in a 4G area and always get 2-4 bars of coverage from work to home.

My only concern is that a several times now I've lost my data signal completely (3G and 4G) and have to reboot my phone to get it back on a service. It happened to be 2x yesterday alone. I even went to network settings and switched modes and it still would not connect until I rebooted the phone.

My phone has also failed to turn back on a few times when I go to use it. It's on, i see the light blinking but the only way to get my screen on is to take the battery out and put it back in.

Are these all glitches that will be fixed with the November path release or is my phone bugging out? I still have until Friday to return it to Costco.

Thanks for the help

If you have to do a battery pull just about every day I'd say return it. You shouldn't have to do that every day. Once in a while seems fine to me but on a daily basis no. The loss of data should hopefully be fixed with the November update.

Two ideas for you ...

(1) There have been wird network outages over the last few days where everone with a 3G/4G phone has lost data treansmission capability. Perthaps you are encountering that problem. Perhaps not.

(2) I have had a few cases where the screen would light up but it would not accept any commands. I just turned it off and turned it on and it was back to normal.

I think this battery pulling may be overused. Try Off then On. Then try Power Off/Power On.

You may just have a bad unit and need to get it replaced ... you are running out of time to get it replaced with a new one (AKA 14 days).

Hmm... If I do need to take it back, then maybe I should just go back to my OG droid for 1-2 weeks and wait for the RAZR or Nexus :/. this phone has been great. Its speed is amazing and I haven't had much trouble with its battery life.

I have had the issue with lost signal but only a couple times maybe 4. Usually when the battery is at 20% or so. Once I reboot it works but 1 time I pulled the battery and replaced and had the same problem did it again and it seemed to go back to 3g. I'm not in a 4g area but also had the problem when I left a 4g area which was the only time I was in one with the phone.

There is a data connectivity bug which apparently will be fixed with next update (hopefully), when it happens to me turning on airplane mode then turning it off after a second or two fixes it for now. Generally gets me when I turn off 4G and it supposed to drop to 3G it just doesnt get data back have to toggle it then
