Help Bug - Phone doesn't turn on!

Okay so I went to sleep without charging my phone, and apperantely the battery died completely. So when I woke up and tried unlocking the screen the phone wouldn't respond. I figured it was off, so I tried long pressing the power button to see if it turned on. The phone gave the vibration feedback, and flashed quickly but didn't turn on.

I figured it was dead so I hooked it up to the power outlet and here's where I think this phone has a bug. When you plug your phone directly to the power outlet with the usb-to-outlet device that comes with the phone, the phone tries to turn on. Because my battery was so dead, whenever the phone tried to turn on, it would turn off automatically. This kept going in a continuous loop, and I started to freak out because I would see the screen slightly turn on and turn back off. I thought something horrible was wrong with the phone.

I called customer support and everything, but they weren't useful

What's interesting is if I plug my phone to a computer USB port while the phone is off, the phone simply shows a recharging screen but the hardware doesn't try to fully boot.

Has anyone else experienced plugging the phone on while it's off and having the system boot automatically? Would this constitute a bug?

Yep. Same behavior here. I did exactly the same thing - forgot to recharge it overnight and it was dead in the morning. And it wouldn't boot, even with the charger plugged in. I'd just get the vibration over and over.

I didn't try the USB port on the computer, though. Instead I plugged in my spare, fully charged battery and went on about my day. When I got home I charged the spare back up to 100% and then tried to charge the original battery again. This time it started charging normally.

I suspect this is related to the rebooting when plugging in the charger problem that has been reported in another thread here which I see you have already found.

Its a known glitch sometimes you push the power and the phone acts like its off or dead. I reported it to samsung.
