Help buggy and unresponsible keyboard

Although I bought a phone which is not specific to any telephone operator, could someone tell me whether in the following information there is something which would explain why I do not get any update, system or otherwise?

Well, the much-awaited FRG83D update from Google finally reached my N1 today. I am not sure why it took so long but there you go.

The touch screen problem is not firmware related. Nexus One is known to have a poor touch screen response sometimes (once in a while you'll have to lock and unlock the phone to fix the screen, it'll think your finger is somewhere else and get very buggy).
