Build date

What is your build a? Maybe that has something to do with people having horrible battery life.. mine is october 26 been off the charger for 3 hours with light use and down to 70 percent battery. 3g only 0 brightness

I think you MAY be running a rogue application. Can you list all the applications you downloaded from the market and are using. Lets start there. Also go into applications /battery information and list what is using the most battery.

Time to trouble shoot. I'm going to be a little busy today but ill do my best to get you up and running.

Amazon,Android spin. App brain. Amazon app store. Battery circle. Big sport fishing. Bocce ball. Bubble buster. Business Calender. Capital one. Craigslist. Drag racing Prem. Earth. EBay. Facebook. Fat booth. Fox news. HBO go. Lookout. Maps. Mixzing. Movies. Mp3 downloaded v2. NASCAR. Necn. PBabowling 2. Quadrant. Standard. Random mahjong. roller. Sound hound. Speed test. Sporcle. Sports tap. System panel lite. Td bank. Twc. Tikyl talk. Trial x. Trip advisor. USA today. Vlingo. Weather bug elite. Wmur tv. Word search. Vault. World series of poker. You tube. Zedge

All with 4g off screen off disable date and sync. Like I said went from fresh battery. To 58 percent in under 3hrs lite use
Screen takes up most like normal set to 0 percent. Nothing crazy showing in battery manager

Ok.....uninstall Lookout, weather bug elite and system panel lite. Don't just force close them. UNINSTALL THEM COMPLETELY :)

after uninstall just reboot the phone for the heck of it and charge up

Run that set up for the rest of the day and report back at the end of the day.

Interesting about Lookout. I'll be following this one...

One thing i recomend is force closing the facebook app. It drained my battery so much I actually use touch.facebook.com instead of the app now. The app would always launch itself in the background and i never allowed any syncing.

OK getting about same results. Off charger 2hr 15 min from full charge. Display 40 min and 55 percent of battery and battery is at 66 percent. Still seeing 1percent drop on battery circle every 1-2 min.,... 3g only 0 brightness

Cereal killer you seem to have a good grasp on things here. Of you great battery life how long is the display on during these charge cycles?
It really depends. There is no set answer because some days I make a lot more calls and some days I'm sending more emails and texts.

can be anywhere from 30-75%. Currently I'm at 35%.

Ok next up on the uninstall list:

App Brain, vlingo, tickl talk, and MixZing

Don't reinstall those other apps you uninstalled neither leave them off.

This is a drag I know but I think you know where we are going with this. You keep uninstalling apps in 4's until you see the severe battery drain cease.

This is the one problem with Android that is just hit or miss. Some apps are a guarantee battery drain while some just don't play nice on EVERYONES handset.

If this next round of testing doesn't fix the battery drain. Lets just take a giant step forward and do a factory reset.

After the factory rest run the device without any apps for a day to determine you don't in fact have a bad battery and/or unit.

If it passes just add 4 apps a day and monitor battery life. If good add 4 more/test for a day/add 4 more/test for a day etc until you see your battery take a hit. Then you will have it narrowed down to only 4 apps to trouble shoot.

Sound like a plan?

I know this is a drag but it goes with the territory when you have a lot of apps (assuming this is the issue)

I downloaded Screebl and it killed my battery in hours. Luckily I just downloaded that one and knew right away what was doing it.

Anyway hang tight. We'll get through this :)

What about just the amount of time display has been on during charge.( Ex 2 hrs) etc... I will uninstall and follow up. Thank you!!

I wouldnt be surprised about the build dates and issues.

I have a Droid 1 and I either didnt have the infamous mute issue or updates fixed it. But I didnt have the mute issue I read about when researching the Droid 1. My build date for the Droid 1 was Mar or Apr 2010.
