Root build prop info

Your asking a lot. Wow.
Why do you need all that info?
What would you do with it all?
Would you even understand it all?
It would require a lot of effort to break it down enough for you to understand it all. Would it be a waste of time?

Unless you plan on developing a recovery, kernel, or a ROM, or plan on porting this ROM over to another phone then the info wouldn't be needed.

If you are serious about trying to understand the info, you will need to google every part of the info to get a clear understanding of it. It really is a lot to try to break down and explain.
Sometimes it's easier to understand when you but forth the effort to do the research.
Make sense?
Even I would have do some research to fully understand the different things that are in it compared to the Optimus V's build.prop.

I'm really only looking for security, storage, and internet related info. Just some things there I'm not used to seeing. Looking for info on ones like lge.signed_image, net.tethering.provisioning, etc...
 
Well I guess we'll both have to do a little googling and see what we come up with. Could you list all the things you need understanding on so I can be googling them as well (two heads are better than one).

I will definitely make a list, ty. Build prop info has been the hardest accurate info for me to find. On some of the older phones I've had there were a lot of things to be tweaked there that made a huge difference. Wondering if there is anything there that might help with tethering, network speeds, etc. Also if you have any info regarding the program menu -3845#*323#, that may help, I'll also put a list together from that menu. Any help is appreciated. Still learning. Definitely intrigued. Been reading to learn to make apps, roms, etc... so just trying to reach out and get some more info. Don't just want to follow instructions without understanding what I'm doing. Ty.
 
Don't forget.
Make a copy of the original build.prop file and put it in a safe place.
I wouldn't recommend changing anything until a custom recovery can be installed and the all important "nandroid backup" is made.

I couldn't find too much info online, I also understand some may not apply which is also something I want to know, if it doesn't apply, why is it there such as a LTE setting... I haven't searched extensively but certain sites give different info so I'm not even 100% who to believe!
As far as the hidden menu reached through the dialer, not even sure what's what there besides the few self explanatory ones...maybe I'm poking around in some of the wrong places to start off but I do have some basics down, mostly just curious and if I see something that intrigues me I usually can't leave it alone till I figure it out or break something! lol

I can also extract and decompile the framework.jar and framework_res.apk and poke around in them. Might help to understand some of the build.prop script
