Built in modem?

Title says it all.

I am wondering if the G1 has a built in modem or a way to be able to use it as one like with some other brands like nokia and motorola.

Also is there even any computer software somewhere for it?

In fact i am posting on my computer with it connected right now, using the trial version of course right now since I can't afford to buy a license just yet.

This will come in good handy on the rare occasions when my cable connection goes out.
