Buy note 10.1 now or wait until after IFA?

I want to start using a note 10.1 in September for taking notes in lectures. I've tried very briefly playing with one in some phone stores and found it to be a little unresponsive but still impressive. This way a few months ago so possibly the new software updates have fixed this?

My other concern is that a new version of this note coming out at the IFA in Berlin in 5 weeks. Does anyone know the likelihood of a refresh coming for the 10.1? I would like the latest model to help future proof a little to get me to the end of my studies.

The Note 10.1 2014 is not that old so I'd be surprised if there were an update already, it's not even 10 months old.

However, if that matters to you, wait. In 5 weeks, it will only get cheaper (particularly if all the stories about Samsung having over-produced tablets are true) and then you will know for sure.
