Buy now or wait?

Hi,

I want to buy my first smartphone and I've decided on an Android device. I've done some research (live in Canada) and I'm interested in the Galaxy S2 as well as the Sensation 4G for the higher-end. Lower-end I'd also consider the Incredible S and Nexus S.

They all offer things that I like, but obviously none are perfect. At the same time, there are always new devices coming out. The Nexus Prime sounds promising.

I would like some advice as to whether buy now, or hold off? If I get one, I would like it to last a good 3 years. Will the current generation of smartphones be future proof enough, or will only the latest and greatest do the job?

Thanks!

Don't wait, or you'll be waiting forever. There will always be a great new phone around the corner.
Second, any of those can last you 3 years. But after about a year I guarantee you there will be new phones that will blow your phone away.

That's just the way it goes.

waiting to get the next best thing... is a dog chasing its tail.

suggested order of process:
1 just decide when you want to get the phone.
2 hen decide on your budget..
3 then look at carriers for best service vs cost for the service.
4 then look at the phones available on that service.

Buy now and later. lol I am trying to decide whether to upgrade right now myself. i say go upscale.

That's a highly subjective question. You should try looking into every other thread where the OP asks "Should I buy now or wait?". Devices can certainly last 3 years. The real question is, can you put up with the same device for 3 years? Some people can. Some cannot. We can't answer that question for you.

I'm a tech geek but not a bleeding edge tech geek and I feel that my year old Droid is getting long in the tooth.
