Buying a new Phone advice

Need an excelent camera phone like 12 MP with a good digital zoom + Android for the UK

Can anyone advise or do I have to wate 5 years?

I'm not sure about what's available in the UK but the Android with the best camera over there would probably be the Desire, Legend, or Nexus One which run at five megapixels.

If you're looking for a phone just for it's camera quality you'll be disappointed as phones can't pack the same hardware as your standard point and shoot cameras.

Edit: The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has an 8.1 megapixel camera.

Best camera in an Android phone?

Xperia X10. Sony makes great cameras.

Only Nokia and Sony use Carl Zeiss German optics in their phones, which is as good as it gets for pocket-sized cameras.

My 5-year-old Sony Ericsson W810i still takes better pictures than most phones.

And it's only 2MP.

I actually think that the Canon cameras are better than Sony cameras. I've owned both and the Canon has done a better job for me. A big problem with Sony cameras with that lens is that the pictures come out too soft. The Incredible on the other hand, comes out with too sharp ones.

Well, yeah. I was talking about phones, not cameras in general. :)

When it comes to cameras, Sony Ericsson and Nokia are the two best phone manufacturers.
Mainly because they both use Carl Zeiss optics.
