Buying an unlocked version for Verizon?

I have seen some unlocked Note2 devices on Amazon and Ebay. Most of them indicate that they work with ATT. Does anyone know if unlocked devices will also work with Verizon? Are there any issues with getting an unlocked device?

Verizon's closed CDMA network will not allow a device onto their network without aproval. Since the AT&T version has no CDMA radio and an incompatible LTE radio, you wouldn't be able to get on anyways. The Verizon Note 2 has unactivated GSM radios that should hypothetically be able to be unlocked to work on a GSM network with compatible frequencies.

no, VZW will have to unlock it directly for international use (call their international dept, or request a transfer after explanation), but you are bound to some non-gsm carriers if that happens. There's many different versions of this phone.
