Buying Phone at Car Toys

adam79

Newbie
I did some price searching for a new phone and found this site Car Toys; they offer the Samsung Blaze for only 1 cent, to T-Mobile customers eligible for an upgrade. Has anyone dealt with this place? The price seems too good to be true. I was filling out the order form, but when they started asking me for my social security #, license info, etc I got hesitant.

Thanks,
-Adam

never heard of the site but you could probally find just as good if not better phones on T-Mobiles site or wirefly.com for free. that phone is pretty nice tho but the screen is kinda small :(

Don't. or check it out. We got 2 used phones that hadn't been wiped on new account. The phones were supposed to be new.
Someone must have returned the phones, and Car Toys put them back on the shelf as is.

I just went to the site, and immediately had bad vibes come from it. And I have learned to trust that little voice.
Your milage may vary.

If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Where is this place? - China? Samsung are probably one of most counterfeited phones, after the iPhone of course. If it's asking for your SSN, driver's license info, etc, think you're right to be suspicious.

The phones I got weren't counterfeit. They were supposed to be free with a new account, and I was NOT expecting a super good deal, but a basic voice only usable phone. Someone apparently got them as free also, set them up, then returned the phones to Car Toys for something better. Car Toys left all the prior info on the phone.
