Help Cached data

Anyone noticed that with 4.2 if you go to storage in settings there's a new cached data section.
Mine shows 756 mb of cached data. But if I'll go to apps/all and click sort by size Chrome shows as the most cached application with 240mb stored. Now what those 500mb could be?

I just cleared it. Nothing changed.. gallery app gave some error but after restarting n7 everything works fine. Didn't lose any files. Maybe its triple buffering cache?

Did you find out whats stored there?

It just says "This will clear cached data for all apps". It apparently just saves you the hassle of going through each of your apps separately to clear the cache. The convoluted method being posted lately of going through the boot loader to clear cache takes forever and I assume it accomplishes the same thing.

That's cool, I never looked at "storage", only at free space in my explorer (which says 3.9gb free)... this says 6.4 gb!... forgot about the app partition that gets added as "free". Just cleared cache with cache clear, 25mb in storage now says 2mb.

Sure takes a long time to calculate! Thought this processor was supposed to be fast.... :(
