Calendar advice

Hi there everyone,
After spending more time than I care to admit looking for the tool I need to get my life organized, I am becoming despondent. I have tried just so, so many and am not sure why I am even bothering to write here because I have probably already tried any that you would suggest. But anyway, here is what I seek, but cannot seem to find. Please tell me if you know of any app that might fit these criteria. And a HUGE thanks in advance.
Please do not mention Jorte because I found it both cumbersome and ugly (or maybe I am just not that clever). I do like Gtasks, but that is not exactly right either. But maybe none of them do, but here are some important features:

-I would like to put a link in the memo that I can click to that will bring me to a webpage. The idea behind this is to organize craft ideas that my toddler and I can plan to do.

- I would like to add repeating tasks with a check box that goes into a calendar. I want to plan water the plants weekly, clean out fridge every 2 weeks. I want this tool to put me on autopilot, I am tired of thinking!

- I would like to add events dates with a calendar view instead of that 3 row line of days, numbers. This is minor, but what a silly thing.

-Ideally, there would be a widget on my phone that I could quickly add to my calendar too.

I have tried wunderlist and that comes close, but there is no scrolling and so I can't see much a lot of the time.

Thanks in advance again.

This may help partially. There is a widget called Pure Calender Widget and it allows you to have an appointment/task list from your calendar(s) and your task list. It also allows you to choose which calender app and which task list app you prefer. You can add either from the widget.

Business Calendar adds event dates with a calendar view. Most add events this way if you start from the month or week view and long press the day you wish to add the event to, but this one uses a month view as the date picker even if you just hit the "new event" button.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer to your more important requirements :(

I would like a calender/task scheduler that would allow setting repeating events in many ways.
For example every 5th Wednesday or the 2nd and fourth Sunday.

Haven't found one yet.

If you mean every 5 weeks on a Wednesday then Business Calendar can do that. Create event, select weekly repeat, then choose the number of weeks you want it to repeat after (every week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks etc).

It also has options for monthly repeats on the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th Wednesday or the last Wednesday of the month. To do both second and fourth Sunday I guess you'd need to create 2 events, one on second Sunday, one on fourth, then set both of them on monthly repeat.

If you want the ultimate in flexibility you should look at Pimlical, which lets you set arbitrary repeats: create the event, then you can specify individual dates you'd like it to repeat on, no pattern of any sort required.

Hi. I have been frustrated by the calendar/task apps as well. On my old PPC PDA's, Pocket Informant was incredibly flexible and useful. The Android version isn't nearly as good. I have used it for a long time, out of loyalty, I suppose, but recently changed too Business Calendar. It isn't s pretty, but is more flexible, and has a good widget. I miss having tasks as part of the PIM; had to add Astrid, less than optimal. Tried Pimlical, found it confusing as could be (swipe up, left, soon around 3 tines, wind up who knows where...). Maybe I'll try it again. Miss my old PI...

Thanks all for the suggestions. My obsession only increased when I discovered that one could put the link in notes for example in a calendar listing. Then click on it directly.

I went ahead and got the propack for Astrid and have been enjoying that for the most part. Love the web clipping extension. I wouldn't even have known what those words meant if I had kept my iphone - ha! \

Astrid syncs to google tasks which syncs to google calendar which syncs to business calendar, digicalendar and acalendar. All 3 of which I like more than Google calendar.

I was just gonna stick with this process - knowing it would become more streamlined with practice. See, one must manually link EACH astrid task to the calendar which I find annoying.

Just rediscovered todoist and I think I may have found my sweetspot here. Sure it costs 30 bucks a year, but found out it sometimes has promotions of 50%. ANd I can also try it monthly on android for about 4 bucks. so, I will probably do this just to see. it does some really helpful things like the ability to add dates to subtasks and has a stats ability to track your effectivenes.

okay - well, i will keep you posted on what finally ends up being the best tool for me and would then be able to suggest it to others.

Doing ok with Business Calendar /Astrid, haven't tried the fancy stuff or the upgrade (I think I purchased it years ago, but I can't find it) maybe go for it again.
