Calendar/alarm

[Supatramp]

On my old Windows phone, I think part of the calendar there was a programmeable alarm with a proper audible notification.

I'm currently using the standard Android calendar but it only has a 'reminder' notification which just gives a one-off notification tone, similar when a text comes through.

So..........can someone suggest/recommend a calendar app, preferrably free, which has an alarm which you can set for days/weeks/months ahead? And has a better audible notification?

Thanks in anticipation.

I've always used Calendar Snooze, which handles notifications from most calendars. This will repeat once/minute until you snooze it or dismiss it (with a big full-screen pop-up notification).

As for advance notices, most allow you to set multiple alarms at varying times in advance. I mainly use Business Calendar, which has pre-sets for alarms up to 4 weeks in advance but can set "individual" alarm times at arbitrary numbers of minutes/hours/weeks or days ahead. There's a free version of that, though I use the paid one.

I use,"Acalendar" and CalendarAlarmHelper. This also allows some user defined tones to Calendar events.I use some chopped down mp3s of favourite songs
