I prefer to sync my calendar with outlook since thats my primary email for work but I get no reminders or alerts for things like holidays and Birthdays etc.. unless I go in and set them up one by one for the whole year, is there a way to just turn on alerts for these things as a whole?

Are you asking about how to get reminder/alerts for appointments on:
1) Outlook, or
2) Android, or
3) Android events that have been synced from Outlook and which had reminders/alerts set in Outlook?

I sync my Outlook calendar (and contacts) with Android using the method at the following link. No apps required or PC programs required. My calendar appointments get synced to Android with their reminders.

There are a lot of other Outlook-Android synchronization apps and programs (free and paid) that employ different methods of synchronization. I can't attest to whether or not reminders are synchronized with any other programs.

How are you syncing to Outlook? I sync to Outlook via Google calendar and I get alerts no problems.
