Help Calendar Crashes EVERY TIME I add an event

anyone else with this problem? it started randomly last night. i've been doing research and haven't found a solution, though i've found many people with the same issue. i open the app no problem, but as soon as i touch Add Event, instant crash, right back to home screen.

a lot of people seem to be having this problem with recurring events....i have none of those.

i cleared data for calendar and calendar storage. nothing. now what? i use this all the time, it's awful!

Is your phone rooted and did you freeze/remove anything? Did you try clearing cache on the calendar app?
 
After I updating to 2.3.6 and rooting, I froze several apps. I experienced the same crash you described until I unfroze "Email Engine". The crash went away.
 
yup, thanks guys. it was the yahoo mail authenticator. i had frozen it. defrosting fixed the problem right away.
 
The yahoo ones are always trouble to freeze. I had forgotten the email engine one was also a calendar killer due to the integration. Since I use blur for email, it's no biggie.

Has the email engine shown up on safe to freeze lists? It shouldn't be there without the caveat.
