today I updated my sync from Dayforce (work app) and my entire calendar changed on my S6, how can I change it back? Thanks!

Could you give more detail on what is actually different?
Appointments changing sounds the sort of thing that a calendar update can do. If personal appointments have disappeared then check your personal calendar is still selected for display (in the calendar amp's settings, can't be more precise as different calendar apps have different menu structures). Otherwise will need more info on the symptoms.
