Calendar Invitations and Synching

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and have recently bought a new Galaxy S3. This may be a dumb question, but I have searched the forums and can not find an answer.

I am using the stock/standard Calendar that came with the Galaxy S3. As an fyi - I have my g-mail account configured as my only e-mail on the device and I do *not* have Google Calendar synched. I do not want to synch my device with Google Calendar (longer story). I use Syncmate from Eltima to manually (USB or Bluetooth) sync calendar & contacts between my Galaxy S3 and MacAir.

My problem/question:
When I go to add an appointment in the Calendar program on my Galaxy S3 and I add a "Participant", and give a valid e-mail address for that participant, no invitation ever gets sent to that participant. i.e. no invite is actually sent even though I save the new event and it shows up in my calendar on my devices (and it will show up on my MacAir whne I sync with syncmate). I assumed that the stock Calendar would use the e-mail address (or some other service) I have configured on the device to send the invitation. No invitations gets sent.

As a side note anytime I go to add a new event I get this warning (blue window):
New Event
Google calendar cannot sync with Samsun Kies. Use My calendar to synch with Kies
(there is a checkbox to "Do not show again"

My sync settings on the device are:

"Settings->Accounts and sync" is set to ON
and the following are listed:
local@syncmate.com (greyed out not green circular arrows) - I assume this is s/w installed by syncmate
(my name)@gmail.com with "Google" listed under it is greyed out not green circular arrows
(my name)@gmail.com with "Email" listed under it is set to sync ie. circular arrows are green.

Any help understanding how to get invites sent from events I set in the Calendar program is appreciated.

What I really want is to get rid of syncmate and be able to do wireless sync of calendar and contacts but NOT have my contacts and calendar data stored on Google or T-Mobiles servers.

Thx in advance for any help/advice.
