Help calendar is annoying, any way to change format?

This is the unlocked gsm nexus, and even with smooth calendar, it still uses the same backbone calendar, which is this really dumb grid with hours for rows, instead of having a normal calendar layout.

I typically set reminders on my calendar as a general 'this is the day I do this' type of thing, and having to keep swiping to the right to find the day rather than just see a full 30 day calendar is putting me off.

Is there any way to change this layout to just show a box with a full calendar where I can click the day and set the hour afterwards?

Thanks.

In the Android calender app, you can tap at the top left where it shows the date, and it will give you a choice between day, week, month or agenda view.

There are also third party calendar apps that will use the information in your Google Calendar that offer other options.

wow thank you, I assumed without hitting it that that button was just for switching months without swiping. so happy now lol.

While we're talking calendars, any idea why appointments don't follow the colors used in the desktop browser version of Google Calendar? The only color differentiation in the mobile calendar is based on who set up the appointment. I'd love for the colors to follow the desktop browser version.

The version of Calendar that ships with Jelly Bean does follow the colours on the browser version, but not the ICS one. Still, I wish Google made the Calendar app as capable as the browser version, if not more.
