Calendar issues in ICS

I have galaxy s blaze and upgraded to ICS a couple weeks ago. ICS was working great at first.

Now my calender alerts dont work.

Anything I can do or should I use an app?

Also, are battery pulls necessary anymore or will "restart" do the same thing?
