Help Calendar Issues Samsung Galazy S5

Hi,
I upgraded my phone only yesterday. I am having issues with the S Planner - it does not show when I add an event. I have synced the calendar to FB so it has imported all the birthdays from there.
Any ideas?

On my S3,when the event is added to the calendar, the details appear on that day - however, when the event is added to the S5 calendar, nothing appears on the date. I have messed about in settings to show Month and Agenda, but all that does is show little dots in the day that has a birthday in it.
 
The month/agenda view will also dots for events (appointments) you enter, not just birthdays. Something isn't configured right. Since I rely heavily on Google Calendar, I went into the settings and had it sync to my Google Calendar only and turned OFF the local calendar option (I think it's called My Calendar) so that when I add an event, it doesn't get added to the local calendar by mistake and then fail to sync to my google calendar.

Thanks for that. I'll have a go at sorting the Google Calendar. I don't normally use it! I use my Outlook Calendar at work.
I'll soon be back to let you know how this works.

Great news! I have managed to sort out the calendar so that it shows appointments and tasks correctly. I did it by going into settings, Calendars, and have ticked the FB option, and the Samsung Calendar & Samsung Task boxes. This seems to have sorted out the issue without having to resort to syncing to my google calendar (which I never used anyway!)
 
There is also a message I get when adding an event to S-Planner, that tells me, that S-Planner does not sync with google, or something similar, and that if I want it to sync with my account, I have to use My Calendar, which I cannot find on my device anywhere!
 
I don't trust Google with anymore info than the absolute minimum.
I do NOT want my phone bleeping as I walk down the grocery store isle.


I have turned off SYNC on everything. If I want an app updated, I will do it manually.
those background sync operations eat up a lot of battery, as do GPS tracking services.

'm using samsung s5 but I don't have Calendar in setting....only SPlanner. And SPlanner does not have FB option, the Samsung Calendar nor Samsung Task boxes. Where did you find them ? Thank you.
 
My screen doesn't show like it says here, only says calendar not S planner, I am on Verizon. I have my calendar sync with google. Someone on the forums told me about the smooth calendar app and I love it as it shows my next 3 appointments on the top of my home screen and it's so customizable. Mary
