Calendar problems...very odd

This is the issue, I set up email and SMS (text) alerts for appointments in my google calendar. I love my android, but use a lot of apple products, too. When I put an appointment in on the web using google calendar, I get all my alerts. When I put them in iCal on my macs or iPad, I get all my alerts. When I put them in via my android phone calandra app, I get NO alerts...sort of. The appointments appear everywhere, on the web, on every iCal, and on the phone. Also, my morning daily email of agenda includes these appointments, they are in database. But I have settings to text and/or email me alert reminders (I.e. I get a text an hour before an appointment so I don't forget it). Oddly, I only get them from appointments added via the web or any iCal app, never for stuff added via my android phone. I add most appointments via phone, since I always have it with me. The appointments show up everywhere and look just like other appointments, so why don't they behave the same? I have checked all phone calendar set things, and can't find any reason. One thing, I cannot edit events added in phone via iCal, only view them. Have not checked if I can edit them on web. Anyone have any ideas why phone appointments are being treated differently?

Are you using a calendar app?

My stock calendar only has the phone drop down notification for reminders. On the other hand, my Calengoo app can be set up to send reminders by text or email.

I am using stock calendar app...but it is synced to my gmail acct. everything I put in anywhere ends up on every app...I put it in on iCal on iPad, it goes to phone, googles web cal, iCal on my macs, and to my phone cal, etc. I set googles cal settings on web to send me alerts via email and text...the only time I don't get the alerts is from stuff input on phone, very odd, since the info does appear everywhere else. If I put it in on web, fine, any iCal, fine...phone, nothing, and android is a google product, so it makes no sense. Otherwise, native app seems fine for viewing, etc.

But if your particular stock calendar cannot set a reminder to do email/text notification, how does syncing that to google help? If your stock calendar cannot tell google to sync an event with a text/email reminder then google cannot create it on its own. I think you need to get an after market app like Calengoo which does that.

When you create a google (or iCal which I do not use) event on google, you can tell it to send a text/email reminder. It is google that sends out the reminder to your phone. However if you create an event on your phone with the stock calendar which has no way to set a reminder, your phone event will sync with google. However, because there is no setting for an email/text reminder on the phone event, google will not create something out of nothing. You just end up with a synced event with no reminder.

But I don't get why iCal gives every scheduled alert as I requested in google setup. All events appear from every device, and all look the same if you open google cal on a browser. All events in the google cal are supposed to trigger alerts, the only ones that do not are phone events. It is odd that the google android app does not work properly, yet the apple app does. Perhaps a third party app will work, but that is likely because it will do a true sync with google, not treat web based cal as another thing.
