Help Calendar reminder

Hi, just recently upgraded from the X10 to the Arc and having a problem with the calendar reminder. More often than not, when I put an event in the calendar the alarm does not sound, just shows a notification in the notification window. The settings page is set the same but cannot understand why the alarm only works with a few events and not all of them. This problem happened on my X10 too so I'm assuming that it's me making a mistake but not sure where. Anyone able to point me in the right direction??

Not sure its 'the' answer but I use a calendar app called Jorte, free from the market and had it on my X10 before I got my Neo so just carried on with it. In the settings you can have alert, notification bar only or none as a notification. So if you can't get the stock app to behave itself then maybe try a third party one. I use mine synced with my google calendars and much prefer the appearance and usage of our seperate google account colours.
