Calendar reminders not persistent

I'm sure this has been asked before, but here I go again. I have an HTC One from Verizon (not that it matters). Anyway, prior to the JellyBean release, my calendar notifications would pop up on the notification bar AND STAY THERE until I manually swiped them away. After JellyBean, the calendar notifications do not stay around - they disappear. So my alarms that go off when I'm in a meeting or away from the phone are no longer there when I look for them.

I believe this is due to JellyBean, but my real question is if anyone knows of a calendar app (that will sync with google calendar) that will provide the old sort of functionality (that allows me to manually dismiss the calendar notifications).

Thanks!

I personally always use an app called Calendar Snooze, which gives me full screen notifications with any calendar app (impossible to miss, persistent, snoozeable).

I don't actually have the stock Calendar installed on mine (never used it, so being rooted I got rid of it), so can't test that. But every third party calendar app I've tried works as you want, i.e. if you enable status bar notifications they remain until you dismiss them. To test this I created a short appointment and left the notifications until after the appointment had finished (as my guess is that's why yours are going - they are being removed when the "appointment" is over). Of course I've not left them for several hours to really test, so this does rely on my having guessed right.

So, Business Calendar is my default calendar app, but I do use Digical as well for its "day list" widget. I tested both of these and both seem to do what you want.

I've downloaded and installed the Business Calendar. Will post an update tomorrow if it works....
Thanks for the suggestions.

Well, I tried Business Calendar and it too failed to leave the notifications in the notification bar. The event went off at 1am and by the time I checked it at 7am, it was no longer there.

Thanks for the suggestion - any thoughts as to other ways to accomplish this?

I have an HTC One GTE. I have a number of Google reminders that are set for 1am. When I get up at 7am, these reminders are no longer on the swipe down bar.

Have you tested with reminders that are overdue by more than 5 hours? Mine stay on the swipe down bar for only a short amount of time after the event is over.
