Help calendar sync issue

The default calendar for my nexus will not sync with my gmail calendar. I have everything set to sync in the settings for my gmail account except for music books and video i belive. When i go to the calendar on my phone it asks which i would like too sync to. I say i woukd kike google. They ask me to either sign in or create an account. I choose sing in. The it tells me that the google account i am try to sign in with is already on the phoe and tells me to sign in again.... so how in the world to get it to sync???

After settings>add account>google>sign in, hit the 3-dot option button on the top right of the screen which enables you to do a browser sign-in. I had the exact same problem as you and this worked for me.
