Calendar sync

First post!

I have synchronized my Outlook calendar with Google calendar through Google's Sync and all worked well (2800+ appointments). However, these events do not show up on my android (Optimus V). If I manually add an appointment to to either Outlook or Google, it does show up on my droid. If I update an existing appointment (that was previously synced) it will also appear on my droid.

Its only been a couple hours or so since I synced my calendars; does it take a while to get all of the 2800 appointments tomy droid? Or is there something squirrelly with the sync where the droid won't pick'em up off of Google until I manually 'touch' them.

Thanks in advance!

I am having the same issue and tend to believe that the problem is with Android 2.3 version. If I enter an appointment in Google calendar manually, it syncs with my phone. However, when I import my calendar entries from Lotus Notes into my Google Calendar, those entries do not sync with my phone (Evo 3D).

In order to find out whether the problem was with my Google calendar or my EVO 3D (android version), I used my old HTC Hero, connecting through WIFI to test. All the calendar entries showed up in my HTC Hero, which runs on Android 2.1.

I tried rebooting my EVO 3D, unchecking the calendar sync option and checking it back on, and modifying a single calendar entry in my online Google calendar. Nothing worked.

Man, there's a lot of problems with Sync. I have not been able to sync using the provided htcsync utility on my EVO 4G and a couple 3rd party apps failed, too.

On the other hand, all my Facebook contacts' birthdays have been entered into my phone's calendar and I cannot delete them.

Are several of the 2800 appointments way back in the distant past? One of the first filters that all syncing methods use is setting only certain period of history or date range rather than syncing everything in the folder? I don't use Google Sync but can you find any settings like this that relate to date range?

Here's what I found on a Google FAQ page about calendar sync issues: "After performing the following steps, events from more than 30 days ago will no longer be available for viewing on your device. Rest assured these events remain saved on the main Google Calendar server and are accessible via the web." The "steps" referred to a manual reset of Droid Calendar Storage and then re-syncing. My Droid Calendar Storage was reset as part of a hard-boot for another issue, and now (as stated above) no events from >30 days appear on the Droid! Have others found this to be true recently? In the past (e.g., when the Google Calendar wasn't syncing properly with the Droid) I did a manual reset of the Droid Calendar Storage and it still synced up every event from Google Calendar onto my DROID from almost a decade ago (legacy data back to Palm IIIe).
