I would like my calender alerts to trigger as an alarm as opposed to the alert.
Why - it has nothing to do with the length or volume of the alerts. It is the fact that if I allow alerts any volume overnight, my phone bings every time an email comes through.
I don't know if Tasker can accomplish this, and I don't have the time to look into Tasker right now. I would rather something else. i have found plenty of apps that try to add functionality to calendar alerts, but all they do are alerts and not alarms (unless I am missing something).
I am currently using AudioGuru for my audio profiles, although I may switch to another profiler that works based on calendar entries as well.
In the short term, that may be the best option. But it is not ideal due to the sound profile I want active during the calendar event (no alerts again).
Why is this so important? I am a shift worker, and I share my shifts to my wife through the calendar, so would like to automate my alarms rather than have to enter them every night.
Lastly it would be really good if the triggered alarm could be a gradually rising one, but that is less important.
