Calendar will not sync more than 9 months

I have multiple year calendar events saved on my MS Outlook calendar viewed from my PC. However my Motorola Electrify M (Jelly Bean) apparently is only syncing about 9 months (since July). Is there a way to get more than this to sync to the phone calendar?

Thought about moving this to your device forum but noticed not alot of activity there :p
So, I will do my best and perhaps when your issue is resolved, we can move it.

Anyhoo, do you use the stock calendar app? Could another calendar app be of more help?

Yeah, I thought of posting there too, but limited activity for the Electrify M. Anyway, thought this may be an Android thing....is there a limit for sync dates, so that it typically won't sync beyond 1 year back? My Samsung Note 10.1 has the same issue...maybe it's an issue with Outlook Exchange? But no clear setting there regarding sync with devices. I am using the "stock" calendar which seems fine, unless this is a flaw.

I don't think it's an android thing but.....I have the GS3 and I can use the stock Samsung calendar and go back over a year.
It does sync with my google calendar. I don't use Outlook at all for anything so I can't comment on that part :p

I've been looking for an answer and so far nothing. Apparently Google used to sync Outlook and Google calendar, but now stopped that. I asked Motorola and they thought the calendar from Outlook should sync to all past dates on the phone. But since it is also happening on my Samsung Note, probably not device dependent. SO, is there reliable way to sync Outlook entries to Google calendar entries? And would the Google Calendar entries then go back years then on the devices?

Pocket Informant Online Web App will be introduced later this year and it will support Entourage, I Calendar, Outlook etc. A preview is below

At the moment only Google Calendar sync is available on the Pocket Informant 3 Android beta for free. I presume once the Pocket Informant Online Web App comes online and syncs your Outlook data to your Android app then when your Google Calendar data on your Android app sync then they will sync down into Outlook, with Pocket Informant Online Web App unifying all data.

That looks like an interesting solution. Unfortunately, I suspect it will be subscription only. I probably don't need old dates on my phone that bad. But it does seem odd that if I had a birthday listed in June to remember, it wouldn't show up on the phone at this point, or perhaps, until I pay for an app to do that.

Not unless you export your Outlook (.csv) file into Google Calendar via the Web interface would your events then sync to your phone's Google Calendar.

Maybe a developer will provide a desktop Outlook plugin for syncing via the alternative internet protocols available for sync. No doubt if a developer does make a product like that they will realise the value and uniqueness of the product if nobody else is providing the same or similar service...

I'm using the paid subscription to sync to the Pocket Informer online servers but that was from Pocket Informant 2 which lost Google Calendar sync capabilities. I'm now using the Pocket Informant 3 beta which has Google Calendar sync which I've just verified by writing an entry on June the 26th 2006 inside Pocket Informant, which then showed up in the Google Calendar app on Android and also on the Google Calendar online Web interface.

I am not sure what you mean. Doesn't Google calendar sync with Android phones? Or do they do have issues with going back more than a year?

The Google Sync is running reliably as always, but the program had some sort of fault where version 2 of the Pocket Informant software no longer synced online with Google. In fact it's one of the top comments on the reviews of Pocket Informant 2. On version 3 beta of their software which I'm using now they (Pocket Informant) have managed to get the Google Sync working again on their end.

Ok, I have found my Motorola Electrify M only syncs with my Outlook Exchange work calendar back to July 2012. I have a Samsung Note 10.1. BOTH DEVICES only sync the calendar to July 2012. Others who I work with (but with different devices) have no problem syncing before July 2012. So that means it is not the server. Why would both of my devices act the same way?

There is a thread about this, but I can't recall it. I cannot speak for outlook, but the issue regarding google is well discussed. For may devices, the sync will only go back one year.

I have found two solutions which work for me:

1. Calengoo. Costs about $6 and will sync everything. Damn good calendar app, too.

2. Free work around: go to your date and time setting and set your current date to say January 1, 2000. This will fool your device and it will then sync back to about one year prior ie 1999. After everything has been synced, reset your date setting to the true date. If I recall, it will still continue to sync back afterwards.

Thanks for the suggestions. No effect by changing the date. Calengoo will not sync with Outlook on Android. Any other calendar apps that sync well with Android and Outlook Exchange? I don't want to mess with going through Google calendar if possible.
