Calendar won't synch

I read the other threads and tried things, no luck.

I tried the Smooth Calendar widget, no luck displaying events from my Google Calendar - only those entered into the phone version. Synch is selected in settings.

Is there an app (not a widget) that is easier to synch?

(Using HTC Eris, 2.1)

... because:

1.) I really did try solutions posted in other threads,
2.) Calendar synch is one of the few "useful" things I'd REALLY like to get to work on this "device" ...

Help me please! Suggestions for setting in Google Calendar?

Should I expect it to work both ways, i.e calendar events in my computer show up in the droid and vice versa?

Thanks mucho.

I have no idea why you can't sync with Google Calendar. Everyone else in the world does it routinely. You don't provide much information about your settings, etc, so it's not possible to give you much help.

Have you selected, through calendar settings, what calendars you want to sync?
Not sure of the exact settings for your phone but it may be something like this: calendar > settings > manage calendars > find your google/gmail calendar and make sure it's set to sync. If you have multiples you will have to select each one.
Then, you have to do the same with whatever other app or widget you are using. Some are OK w/just checking 'Google calendar' and some need you to select them all again.

I haven't your calendar. But with mine (Touch Calendar) I have to choose with every entry in which calender I want the entry be shown.
In the beginning I had "PC sync" as default.
Then there wasn't any syncing with the Google calendar.
I had to set "show in ..." my Google account name.

Maybe you have to set this with your account name in your calendar too :)

Open your calendar app
Click on settings (menu button)
Click on 'calendars'
Uncheck 'My Calender'
Check '(your name) Google Calender'

Then make sure the google calendar is marked to sync.

If this does not work, try being a little more specific with your information such as what type of phone you have.

i had the same problem and it was because I had MY CALENDAR checked, and that one is not connected to my google account.

I also use the JORTE calendar app, much nicer interface than the stock app and more customizable.

Thanks. If no one else in the world has the problem, why are there several threads regarding this "problem"?

And yes, I did solve it, thanks to those of you who offered ideas.

Best,
