Root Call codecs

Does our phones have a codec switch option similar to the earlier 2G phones. It made your voice clearer because it was pushing more data. Just curious. I know our phone has a better mic than the motorola's do. I wasn't sure though if it was an android service menu option or if it was, how to even get to it.

Actually i think our phone uses a standard mic used in millions of phones... and I find my call quality to be better than the last 6 phones ive had

Do u remember though? When we could change the codec. I know i could in my env2
