Call Phone Lag Problems

Anyone else have a problem time to time where you're getting an incoming call you hit the green button or the button on the screen to pick up the call and it takes so long to happen that the call is missed and never picks up.

Or how about when you hit phone and you dial a number and hit call and it lags big time, or when go to your past history calls and touch it, it takes like 5-10 sec to make the call?

All the time....I'm hoping a decent phone app. will come out soon. I think a better design is definitely needed.....This is my biggest gripe about the phone. The default phone app. is slow and poorly designed.

I can honestly say that I have very little lag in my phone app. I think it all depends on your phone and what you have running.

I actually changed my slot cycle to 1 last night and ran some tests. It took about about 1 to 2 rings on the other line for my phone to ring. It took less than a second for me to hit the green call button to answer and be able to talk/hear. So all in all, not bad for cellphone to cellphone. It was about a second or two faster when I tried from my work line to my Eris.

So, it is possible! Try changing your slot cycle and killing apps running in the background (although I personally don't. When I ran those tests, I had about 26 apps running in the background). I do also clear my cache's every other day or so.

any feedback on changing the slot index in regards to battery life?

that is good news. but, have you really noticed a benefit in this change? just faster ring response?

I think my apps refresh quicker. It may be in my head, but it seems especially my weather channel app is snappier. I think a few other people echoed this statement.

When you change the slot index what does it do exactly? I remember seeing a thread on here the other day (or maybe it was a different forum:confused:) about this and how to do it. But now I can't find it. It's been a REALLY long day and I'm stoned and lazy so I only looked for like 10 seconds max:rolleyes:. Anywho... any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

No, no noticeable effect on battery life. I was closely monitoring my phone after I changed it and in the 5 hours after I changed it, it lost about 1% of battery every hour (sitting idle).

I have noticed less lag in calls coming in and also weather/time like the others have said.

Has anyone who has changed their slot had any of the problems of losing connection that was mentioned in the post linked above?

Why would the slot cycle have anything to do with apps?

The apps it would effect are the ones that would use the 3G/mobile network. So it does help with the time/weather widget and I'm guessing if you aren't within wifi range, it would help with anything using 3G. From what I understand, slot cycle is how often the radio checks in with the tower, so if it is checking in more often, you'll get that info faster.

If anyone else knows more about this, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
