When I make a call it keeps sayin conneting and when it finally connects I cant hear anything? I have a Lg optimus fuel straight talk phone.

I'm afraid that's not a lot of information to go on, and since that's a CDMA handset you can't even try a different SIM (or your SIM in a different handset) to eliminate some of the possibilities.
You don't say whether the other person can hear you or not, or whether this problem is new or the phone has always had it. The symptoms you describe could be either network or phone, but if they are persistent over a few days and don't depend on location phone is more likely.
Try installing a voice recorder app and saying a few words, in order to check whether the microphone is working - if it isn't then you know what the problem is. You could also try making a call in speakerphone mode to see whether that makes a difference. But I suspect you're going to have to speak to your carrier to make sure the problem isn't at their end, then if you can't find anything else out back up the phone, do a factory reset, and if it still doesn't work get it repaired.
