Call quality?

I would be interested in hearing from new users of this phone about the call quality, and signal strength of the cell readio too. I'd appreciate comments on the camera quality, too. Returned the gnex mainly because I was unhappy with the quality of photos, and glitchy signal strength issues, and now I'm stuck with in iPhone 4s. Great camera and strong cell radio, but otherwise missing a big screened android phone.

I have owned both the GNex and the Rezound. I had problems with signal on the GNex and was disappointed with the camera. I also was a little disappointed with the screen on it. Size and weight of the Spectrum is similar to the GNex. Signal as good as the Rezound but with a bigger screen. Screen is beautiful and camera on par with the Rezound.

My wife and I just got our Spectrums and she is pissed about the phone quality. She called me last night and we could hardly hear each other. We never had this issue with our old phones. Is there something that can be done (an app or setting) to remedy this? Thanks for the help, Marc

I had the same issue in the beginning!

I've been finding that the call quality tends to be quite lousy with one or two bars of service. With 4 bars, incoming voices are pretty darn clear. Check your reception! It also has to do with the hardware the other person is using. Try doing a Spectrum to Spectrum call vs a Spectrum to Ally call. There is a noticeable difference.

As far as out-going voice -- press the phone right up against your cheek. You'll be surprised at how much your voice quality will improve. If you don't press it, the noise-cancellation mic will think your voice is external noise and block some frequencies out.

Alternatively, you could get a quality bluetooth headset or sun visor mounted system in your car! The really good ones go for about $100.

no complaints my way from the phone just that my cheek pushes buttons sometimes and dials numbers while im on the phone but been trying to fix that

Yeah, I switched from the Nexus and the 4S for the same issues...lol. Signal strength is perfect so far in my experience. Camera is average for all the 8 megapixel shooters out there today, nothing too spectacular. You'll like the Spectrum if you like LGs custom overlay. You either love it or hate it.
