Help Call recorder has made all media on my phone not recognizable by apps

I installed Call Recorder by Clever Mobile.
Instantly all pictures, video and music is NOT recognized by the gallery app, music app, or even as music or pictures by the Samsung galaxy My Files app.
You can still see the files if you plug in to a computer or if you use ES File Explorer you can manually open them, but opening a picture that way doesn't give you the favorites,share,edit, delete buttons at the bottom so it still thinks they are different then normal pictures. If I take new pictures with my camera they show up in gallery though.
Can anyone tell me how to fix th
 
Ya I uninstalled it and nothing changed. This app totally destroyed any media related apps from recognizing said media.
The only thing it recognizes is new pictures taken with the camera, but if you copy them to a computer and back it no longer recognizes that same picture in the gallery.
 
maybe it corrupted something with the gallery app. have you tried an app like QuickPic instead of the standard gallery app?

If you can get to your recovery you could try to remove the cache and force the system to rebuild it. Maybe its something corrupt in there. I am not familiar with Call recorder so not sure what it could have done.
 
Assuming similar apps steal/use the same code here's review I found for a call recorder app right above it. Doesn't seem good.

Even the samung 'my files' app see no media. It only see's files but doesn't identify them as video, audio or pictures to put them under those specific folders.
I have already wiped the cache from recovery to no avail.
 
Maybe go into your apps settings and click on the gallery app and delete data. Then reboot. If the pictures can be opened in the file manger then it would suggest that they could be ok.
 
digging through reviews found another one for this specific app.
Some developers should be banned. It's one thing for an app to have bugs but for it to destroy some of the most basic functions of a phone is just malicious.

deleting the cache and data in settings did nothing.

1. Can you find the .nomedia file from your pc? If so, delete it.

2. What are the extensions of the media files the apps can't detect?
(Extensions being .mp3 or .jpg etc.)
As far as I know, the apps should be able to find all the files with most common file extentions.

Also, just in case, just copy all your media files to a PC. Then you have a backup, and can start to try to do a factory reset.
