Help camera and message pictures

I have a galaxy s and the camera used to work and now it doesnt and I keep getting a message from pictures sent to me that they currently cannot download..and it all used to work..someone said to uninstall the camera and then reinstall..and i have no idea how to do any of that..please help..and can the camera just be non repairable? the self picture taking thing still works though

I would take the phone in and have it looked at. Also are you using an oem battery on your phone? I have heard of of some after market batteries that have caused the camera not to work right.
