Camera App discussion (FV-5, Open Camera, etc) (IMPROVED)

In principal (FV-5) seems to work. I haven't tested any advanced features out, but when I ran the manual camera compatibility app, it said the S60 has all the manual compatibilities, so I bought FV-5 and installed it, was able to switch between JPG and PNG format, and store RAW files.

I've only ever had a point and shoot camera, so I'm not familiar with all the DSLR settings FV-5 offers, but as time allows I will test them and update.

I had a wakelock issue when I first installed it yesterday, but some combination of uninstalling, disabling the power button double-tap camera launch thing, spending about 5 minutes on the charger, and then reinstalling, has fixed the wakelock. 6.0.1 is a pain in the ass it seems with nonsensical wakelock issues.

Been messing with it for a few days now, and so far, I'm honestly underwhelmed. I like the manual focus, and the ability to select different file types, but in spite of all the manual adjustments, I haven't been able to take photos as good as the stock camera app, with regards to color.

Now, I understand that when manually adjusting stuff, your skill determines image quality, and I have no skill, but no matter what I tweak, the images look washed out in comparison to those taken of the same subject with the stock camera app. Definitely, leaving all the settings for FV-5 in "auto" yields a much worse imagine in comparison to the stock app.

I might have to look around and see what else is out there.

I just installed Open Camera, which I used on my old phone, and it's the same deal on this phone... images are washed out, compared to the stock app.

I'll have to research this more later, but I suspect any aftermarket app is going to yield the same issue.

Camera function is so much batter now, after the most recent update.

I couldn't be happier with the improvement. The FV-5 image would have been completely washed out prior to the OS update. I didn't change anything with the app, just installed the update and it made a world of difference.
