Camera error

Most times I launch the camera app I get a message ; 'Failed to take picture (probably camera is busy) '. This quickly goes away & it seems the camera is fully functional. I have downloaded a 3rd party camera app & the same message is displayed.
Can anyone explain this & how to remove or fix the problem.

I've encountered that error a few times in the past - usually some process has hung and is holding the camera. A reboot usually clears that up.

If it happens frequently, it could be a poorly-coded application. Depending on the device, you may be able to boot into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all third-party applications, to see if that is the case.

What device and Android version are you using, and is it rooted?

Thanks but I found out the colprit was an app called 'gravity' that keeps your screen alive based on movement
