Camera Focus Question

I'm using the camera and I'm noticing one thing. On any other device I've used, you can touch on a dark or light area of the screen and the camera will focus accordingly. Either brightening or darkening. Any ideas why that doesn't work on the GS3?

It's harder to describe than I thought. Let me know if that doesn't make sense.

It does it for me. You may have some setting turned on or off. Which carrier are you on? Each carrier does make some slight changes in software.

I'm on Verizon. I checked from what I can tell is all the possible settings.
It was frustrating when I was trying to take a picture towards the sun yesterday. The frame was very dark, usually touching a dark area makes it lighter.

Try using HDR under Shooting mode. It will take 2 pictures and combine to make one brightening the forground part of the image. Works well. You will see 2 shots in the Gallery. One being the usual shot and the other the enhanced shot to compare.

OK Thanks - I've used this mode before, not 100% what I'm looking for though
