Help Camera LED Notification App

The Turbo is a great device, mostly. However, a downside is that no capability seems to exist to make the camera flashes flash momentarily for an incoming call or text.

This is normally an accessibility setting and should be on the Turbo.

Is anyone aware of any 3rd party app that provides this capability with:

1. No ads.
2. No intrusive permissions required.
3. Reasonable cost.

I don't mind paying if it is a good and functional piece of software.

Flash well, all.

Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know of any such app. That's an unfortunate omission. I'd just search the play store on a pc browser and you can look at ratings and permissions if nobody answers with a good alternative.

Thanks for replies, guys.

This seems like a standard accessibility capability for the deaf. It is apparently a setting on many Android phones and iOS. Not on the Turbo, I'm not sure about the rest of the Moto lineup.

I've been reasonably thorough in looking but apps seem kind of sketchy so I wanted to see if anyone was happy with one they had found.

I'll keep looking.

Be well,

David

And Thom, no, it doesn't seem to be dangerous because I see iphones go off like this all the time.

I know that some of the apps I've looked at can configure the length of the flash.

Yeah, my son uses that feature on the iPhone for received sms and iMessage messages - not because he's deaf, but so he can tell just by glancing if he's received a message.

Motorola uses the Moto display feature for the same reason, and you could go into the settings for the app to restrict it to the apps you want, including for phone calls. But it's nowhere near as obvious as blinking the back flash.

If you find an app you like, post back here to let us know, please. Thanks.

"Nowhere near as obvious." Exactly. Nothing I've been willing to mess with yet.

Okay, I found one. Quite good and seems clean from a permissions and ads perspective.

CallFlash

A couple of minor issues:

Seems to have in app purchases but I can't find them or what they provide.

Can't activate the flash on the front facing camera. Heck, is there one on the Turbo? I think so.

Lmk what you think.

Flash well, all.

David
