Camera Not Working!

Hey all,

I NEED this fixed as it is driving me mad! A while back my camera began to play up; at first this was a temperamental thing (the front camera would work but not the back, through some apps but then not through the phone etc.) and would switch between the 'Error Call back' and 'Camera Failed' message. Now it will only work from the front camera on Snapchat, if I try and flip it Snapchat jams and restarts. As soon as I open it through my phone it pops up with 'Camera failed' and takes me back to the homescreen. Here are the things that I have tried:

1. Settings > App manager > Camera > Force Stop > Clear Cache > Clear Data. (multiple times, including times in which I have also restarted the phone shortly after).

2. Repeating the above action with the adjoining gallery.

3. Loosened and tightened the little screws on the back of the phone to see if something wasn't sitting right.

4. Turned off my phone and gone into the recovery setting and cleared cache partition.

5. Dialled in *#9900# and pressed the second option (suggested by a friend) which apparently had worked for him but alas, nothing.

6. After giving up all hope I did a factory reset. Still nothing!

SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!

It's possible the camera is bad, and you may have to replace. It could also be loose at its connection to the main board, but that is less likely.

I recent had this 'camera failed' problem on a Note 2. I replaced both cameras, and it still gave me the message. In my case, there was a software problem someplace, but I could not find it.

Heya,

Aw that's no good, did you end up replacing your phone or sending it away? I would think the camera was actually broken except for the fact that it still works fine on snapchat (on the front camera anyway) and since it changed its mind about letting me use the camera a few times in the past I figure it's gotta be something else you know?
