It's tied to the ringer volume. If the phone is on vibrate or silent, it doesn't make a sound.

It doesn't make sense that its shutter sound is tied to the ringer volume when my previous G2 had its own independent on/off switch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
