Camera shutter sound

DanBCool

Lurker
Hello, I am new to this forum, just bought an AT&T HTC Desire 610 with Android.

I may be the only forum member that would like my camera shutter sound to be louder. I have checked many forum questions about this subject and they all want to turn off the sound.

Is there and app, or any way to make it louder?

Are you rooted. If yes, I'd think you could find the shutter sound file and replace it with a file of your choice that that is more attention-getting or which uses more of the available digital range.

On my S4, the file is located in /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg

Wonderful reply electricpete. I DO have some great .wav clicking sounds. Thank you. I am only vaguely aware of being rooted. I will get over to your "rooted" forum and learn how to do it.

Be careful what you do with root, make backups of anything you change and if possible install a "custom recovery" which allows you to back up the entire phone incase anything goes wrong :thumbsupdroid:
(you should be pretty safe just changing the file Pete suggested though)
