Camera stopped working

Pixel 3 running Android 12. Running it since September no problems, today went to take a picture and the screen was black. Was able to select different modes and take a picture but it comes out black. Tried rebooting, no luck. Tried uninstalling last camera update

wipe cache and data for the camera app and see if that helps.

if not then it might be a hardware issue. was the phone dropped recently?
