Help camera/video quality

does the higher megapixel mean better picture quality, i had mine set to 1MP but switched it to 5MP because i was told pictures come out better, is this true ? & are videos @ 720p better quality then if i were to record them in VGA resolution (640x480) ?

1mp-5mp isnt the quality of the picture. Megapixels is the size of the picture. 90% of people think the higher the megapixels the better the camera. Which its not. Same with 720p its the size.

So if you ever want big, which in turn if you print them out make them clearer ,use 5mp setting and 720p. Thats the only way the picture/video comes out better is size wise.
