Help Camera w/Flash - Post Gingerbread

Since the Gingerbread update, when the camera uses the flash, it actually makes my photos darker most of the time than without the flash. This is true regardless of whether it's on auto or forced. I don't know how this is possible but is this happening to anyone else? (I did a hard reset as well as battery pulls.)

Yes, the flash timing is off. I just noticed it this evening along with the cam rebooting my phone pretty consistently. The non-flash low light photo's were improved though.

Didn't notice till I went on vacation this week. The flash is not working resulting in black photos. YAY GB update!!

I just found a fix in another thread for this problem. I was having the same issue. Try this:

"
I did experience a weird thing with the Camera the other night.. I was trying to use the Flash to take a pic in a low lit area and it seemed that the flash and the "snap" were off because the pics kept comming out black(dark). So i went in to applications>manage applications and cleared the data in the Camera app. Tried again and Viola... it worked..
"

Nice, seems like a hard reset should have accomplished this, but I'll try it when I get home. I want to back up my pictures, just in case (although I know it shouldn't touch them since they are on the SD).

It worked like a charm for me, all pics are still there. Not really sure what "data" it clears but apparently it clears whatever was killing the timing of the flash. I feel like I have my camera back, a little frustrating the last couple weeks trying to take pics without flash.
