Whenever I take a picture this is a horrible lag between the time I hit the camera button on the screen to take the picture till it actually takes the picture. Once I hit the camera button the flash will go off, then I get these green boxes all over the screen, then after a couple of seconds it will take the picture. I would like it to take it right when I hit the camera button. Can anyone help me with this. I just can't seem to find the right setting.

Sport mode...... It speeds up the process of taking a picture.

Sounds to me that your camera is self focusing before each picture. Sport mode will reduce this so called lag in a sense.

I just can't seem to get this camera lag to go away. It takes more than a couple seconds for camera to focus and take the picture. I've tried all settings. The only way it goes away is in manual mode which takes blurry pictures. I've cleared the cache and even installed third party apps to try and speed it up. Google camera worked great the first day but now I still get the same lag as the native app.
The camera will flash then focus the then focus and focus then flash again and take the picture. I have a 7 month old and I've been missing good pictures cuz by the time the picture is taken she moves. Any help or ideas or fixes would be great. I can't find a solution to this.

Have you tried using the task manager widget that comes pre-installed on the phone?
