I have an unlocked Xperia mini pro which I've been using for an year. I'm a developer and i intend on buying an android phone(non-contract) from swappa.com purely for the sake of development. It may be locked to any carrier, say Sprint, Verizon, AT&T... I will use it to connect to my WiFi and I won't use a sim card. Please tell me if my phone will have chances of getting locked under the given circumstances. If you know more ways(chances) of getting it locked, please advice. Also tell me if the phone will get locked on updating android using the manufacturer's PC software. Thanks in advance!
I have shortlisted the following devices:
-> HTC Evo 4G on Sprint
-> Motorola Droid X on Verizon
-> Motorola Droid 3 on Verizon
-> Nexus S 4G on Sprint
-> Motorola Atrix 4G on AT&T
-> Motorola Droid on Verizon
-> Samsung Epic 4G on Sprint
-> Sony Xperia Play on Verizon
I mostly would be buying the last device above. Please share your views...
