Can a website do this?

Hi guys,

Came across this on a site when I was looking for my S3 unlock code and thought it was a bit odd to see a website actually make fun of their customers!

Our Top 10 Customer Service Queries

It is funny but can a company really do that? I suppose they haven't named the customers but it is a bit un-nerving to think a website could publish your email to them and turn it into an article.

As they don't divulge the customers' identities they're in the clear as far as the Data Protection Act etc goes. Another way of looking at it is they're simply turning grief dumped on themselves around. :)

Are people really that illiterate in the UK these days?
I was thinking that too. It gives us here in the US hope to see people in other countries just as illiterate as ours.

Here in the US we often hear a standard disclaimer when phoning customer service about our call being monitored and used for training purposes. Recently Facebook raised a lot of ire when they disclosed that they own the rights to members' conversations. No mass exodus though.

I'll bet that somewhere in that site's TOS there's a similar disclaimer about the use of tech support e-mails.

That's a pretty good way of looking at it Slug! I'd imagine most customer service reps get a ton of rubbish thrown their way, so it's nice to see a company seeing the funny side.

I thought the lack of names would likely mean that they can post that information and not be in breach of anything. Was very strange to find though!

I've seen something else similar to this, and both made me laugh. Can't quite think of where else I've seen this. None the less I wouldn't mind seeing more sites give some people humor by displaying their worst of the worst emails.

I find it incredulous though when I see that Chinese middle school students seem to have a much better command of the English language than people in the UK or the USA. :banghead:
