Also I have managed to delete a sort of digital photo frame widget from my home screen. Had some nice pictures that changed every few seconds. If you have any idea what I am talking about can you tell me the name of the thing so I can put it back!

Tick and briefcases sound like app download/install notifications, gray box+2 sounds like message notification.
And sounds like you deleted the gallery widget. Should still be available to put back.
