Root Can Changing build.prop to Kindle Make the Optimum Cable App and Amazon Prime Work?

So I have my Asus TF700t that I successfully rooted. I thought that if I go ahead and change my build.prop to reflect that it is a Kindle Fire, that I would be able to fool the apps into thinking that it is a Kindle and thereby getting my Optimum Cable App (which works on my EVO, and is known to work on the Kindle Fire HD) as well as being able to watch videos from my Amazon Prime.

Would this really work? Or am I SOFL?

If yes; what exactly should I change?

IMHO, no good comes from telling your device it's a completely different device. Assuming you don't boot loop from screwing up the edit, you'll just have some issue down the road (real or imagined) that you think was caused by the edit. Eventually you'll have it so screwed up you'll need to wipe and start over.

You might try the modded 4.2 play store app, which fools the store into thinking you have 160dpi or flashing Cromi-x 5.2 (after making a backup in recovery). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839871
